Looking for an authentic local restaurant near Jeju Airport?
We headed straight to Nukdongbaegi, a local favorite known for its rich pork back-bone soup (Jeopjjakbbaeguk) and traditional side dishes.
This restaurant recently moved to a new building, now cleaner and more spacious. You can’t miss the orange sign from afar!
We visited with 4 adults and a toddler.
Even though the restaurant was busy, service was impressively fast—perfect when you're on a tight travel schedule.
They divided our party into two tables and served everything promptly thanks to our pre-ordering.
You can park in front of the restaurant between 11:00–13:30, but spots are limited.
We recommend parking across from Top Mart, just a short walk away. It’s spacious and hassle-free.
Please note the restaurant may not be the most convenient for young children:
No strollers allowed
No high chairs or baby tableware
Use of smartphones/tablets may be limited
Tight space inside: watch out for safety hazards
Despite arriving early, we still had to take a queue ticket.
If you leave the area when your number is called, you’ll lose your spot—so stay nearby!
The owner takes pre-orders to speed things up, which is a huge plus.
Huge pork bones, tender meat falling off effortlessly, and a spicy, flavorful broth absolutely soul-warming.
No unpleasant smell, clean taste. Perfect with rice.
Unlike regular yukgaejang, this one’s thick, creamy, and filled with mountain herbs like fernbrake.
It had a comfort-food vibe—like Korean-style chicken porridge but richer.
Grilled pork belly skewers with a smoky aroma.
Try it with pickled anchovy chili—it’ll blow your mind. Great side dish with rice!
As soon as we were seated, side dishes were served:
Kimchi, lettuce, chili peppers, pickled chili, dipping sauces—everything was fresh and ready.
There’s even a solo-dining area at the front of the restaurant for solo travelers. A thoughtful touch!
From the first bite, we knew we picked the right spot for our first meal in Jeju.
Every dish was hearty, flavorful, and true to Jeju’s traditional style.
Even our family, including a picky toddler, gave it a thumbs-up.
If you want to experience authentic Jeju cuisine, Nukdongbaegi is a must-visit.
